フェラーリ458イタリア（タイプF142）はF430に取って代わり、2009年のフランクフルトモーターショーで初めて公式に発表された。デザインはフェラーリの伝統に沿ってボディはフェラーリのデザインディレクターであるDonato Coco氏のリーダーシップの下、ピニンファリーナによって設計された。空気力学は過去のモデルとは一線を画していて高度な空力処理により200km/h走行時では140kgのダウンフォースが発生する。エンジンは90度V型8気筒4.5リットルエンジンで9,000rpmで570馬力。フェラーリの公式データでは、0-100km/h加速3.35秒、最高速度325km/h。操作感は488 Pistaと比較すると強めのアンダーステアにセッティングされているのでとても乗りやすい。
