Fox Business reports that the California governor and Tesla CEO held a joint press conference on Feb. 22 in Palo Alto.
The former Hewlett Packard HQ will now serve as Tesla’s global engineering HQ.
The move is somewhat surprising since Musk previously criticized the state for “overregulation, overlitigation, overtaxation” and even moved Tesla’s corporate HQ from the area to Austin, TX, in 2021.

strong presence in California.
According to Musk, the company
has a manufacturing plant located in
Fremont, CA, which is “the highest-output automotive plant in North America.”.
The Fremont plant is expected to produce 600,000 vehicles this year.
