Ineos’ More Compact Off-road Vehicle , Will Be Available for Sale in 2026 , Ineos Fusilier EV 2026

Ineos introduced its first fully electric vehicle, called Fusilier, but it has not completely given up on internal combustion engines. Following the Grenadier and Quartermaster, the new off-roader will also be offered with a range-extending engine to go as far off the beaten track as owners need.

Slightly smaller than Ineos’ first model, the Grenadier, the Fusilier will be powered solely by electric motors, but can be equipped with what the company describes as a “small” gas engine to charge batteries when a plug is unavailable. The setup is successful, although not unique, and was recently used by the Audi RS Q e-tron, which took first place in the Dakar rally.

Ineos says the Fusilier uses a “bespoke skateboard platform” onto which a steel body with aluminum doors is added. It hasn’t announced performance figures yet, but last summer it said its electric platform would be good for up to 249 miles (400 km) of range.

Like Genadier, Fusilier was developed in Austria with the help of Magna. The company has a lot of experience in off-road vehicles and produces the Mercedes G-Class. It has also been tapped by VW to develop upcoming electric off-road vehicles for its Scout brand.

The company states that Fusilier will undergo an extensive testing program, including trials on Mount Schöckl. Once completed, production will take place at Magna’s facility in Graz. Last summer, the automaker announced that its electric off-road vehicle is planned to be released in 2026.

“Announcing our third model series is another important milestone for INEOS Automotive and reinforces our purpose as an automotive manufacturer; like our entire vehicle range, we are here to serve for the long term,” said Lynn Calder, CEO of Ineos.
