Shenxing Supercharged Battery Used in This SUV for the First Time,New Chery Exeed Sterra ET SUV 2024

On February 20, Exeed Sterra and CATL launched the world’s first model of Shenxing supercharged batteries mass produced and installed in vehicles, the Xingtu Xing Era ET. It is reported that this new battery has a super-fast charging speed of “10 minutes of charging and 400 kilometers of range”, has a high safety factor and low-temperature power performance without degradation.

Shenxing super rechargeable battery was launched in August last year. It claims to have ultra-fast charging speeds of “10 minutes charging and 400 kilometers of range” and a range of over 700 kilometers.

Information released by Exeed Sterra shows that, relying on the global 800V platform and Shenxing supercharged batteries, the Star Era ET is capable of “lightning-fast charging across all temperature ranges” and that “it is possible to travel 400 kilometers on a charge for 10 minutes at normal temperature.”

Exeed Sterra ET, the first new energy SUV model to pass the China Automotive Industry Center’s “NESTA Six-Dimensional Electrical Safety” technical verification, has carried out a series of tests on the battery pack during the development phase, far exceeding national standards. The safety and protection of the battery powered vehicle is as good as it should be.

In the waterproof sealing test project, the battery system went through 36 hours of comprehensive vibration conditions, and then was immersed in water for 24 hours to ensure that the battery pack does not enter the water, does not exceed the national standard by 48 times, and the waterproof level reaches IP68; Switched between 0 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees Celsius water temperature in 12 cycles. In the immersion test, no water entered the battery pack after the hot and cold shock test; No water entered the battery pack after 60 minutes of immersion at low temperature -30°C. The appearance of the battery pack was intact, and the air tightness and insulation tests were consistent with those before immersion. The battery pack was reinstalled. The vehicle could still operate normally.

In response to the risk of thermal runaway of the battery, Exeed Sterra ET has adopted a series of thermal protection measures to prevent thermal runaway and heat dissipation in battery packs, and designed scientific exhaust paths and active cooling systems through simulation analysis. In addition, in the China Automotive Center’s vehicle thermal diffusion safety protection verification test, the underside of the vehicle was roasted at high temperature for 130 seconds. After the roasting was completed, there was no fire or explosion within 30 minutes, and the door could be opened normally and was insulated. Normally, the oxygen concentration in the cabin, the smoke concentration and CO concentration is well below the limit standards.

Exeed Sterra is the brand’s main pure electric high-end series model, positioned as a medium and large SUV.
