Kia has decided to surprise the world by offering the first look at the upcoming K4 five-door hatchback.

The K4 five-door hatchback was unveiled on a video screen during the K4 sedan presentation at the New York International Auto Show.
It looks like the compact hatchback will go on sale in the US after the sedan launch in the second half of 2024.

The automaker gave us our first look at the car during its K4 sedan presentation at the New York International Auto Show today. Although we already knew that the compact sedan would be introduced, the company has so far remained silent on plans for a hatchback version that will replace the Forte.

Few more details were offered, but Kia confirmed that the vehicle will be sold in the US and arrive later than the sedan. From the first images, it appears that little needs to change other than the roofline and rear end to transform the sedan into a hatchback.

Although it is not yet clear whether all powertrains will be shared between models, the K4 sedan will be offered with two engine options. The entry-level 2.0-liter engine produces 147 hp (110 kW / 149 PS) and 132 lb-ft (179 Nm) of torque, while the 1.6-liter turbocharged option produces 190 hp (142 kW / 193 PS) and 195 lb-ft (195 Nm). lb-ft).

There may be nothing to say about the engines, but Kia prioritizes comfort and safety for the car. In addition to features such as lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance technology, the vehicle is equipped with acoustic glass on the windshield and noise-reducing tires, taking its overall feel to a higher level.
