Time Capsule Mazda RX7 | The Poor Man’s 944?

Today we had the opportunity to shoot and drive this impeccable time capsule RX7. The icon that helped Mazda’s rotary get placed on the map!

With low power and extremely high red-line, this car was meant to be driven high in the powerband at all times. In combination with its light weight and excellent chassis dynamics, this car’s superb handling made it the “poor man’s 944”. Considering the R&D used for the RX7, it is safe to say, Mazda was able to really get the right power to weight ratio that would later be used for its other iconic, smaller car; the Mazda Miata.
