Suzuki Hayabusa India Review – Why is it so Popular and Should You Buy it?
It has been 20 years since the Suzuki Hayabusa took form but even today, there are several motorcycling enthusiasts not only in India but all over the world, that swear by the fact that the Hayabusa is the best motorcycle money can buy. But why is that? We try to find out.
Undoubtedly, Suzuki Hayabusa is the most popular sports bike in India as even school going students of our country are familiar with the name of this bike which has featured in many Bollywood movies and songs. Suzuki entered the Indian market with this bike in the year 2008. Let’s try to figure out what makes this bike unique. Suzuki has introduced the second generation of this bike in India. The new variant comes with improved aerodynamics which makes it look better than before. The bike looks extremely bulky from its front. Its front fairing houses its vertically placed headlight and clear lens indicators. The wide and long visor further enhances its look with integrated black colored rear view mirrors. Suzuki has also printed graphics on its front fairing which adds aggressiveness to this bike. Just below its headlight, Suzuki has placed a broad front fender which completely covers its front forks. Move to the side of this bike and you will notice the extreme extension of its side cowl. Suzuki Hayabusa is under covers till its rear tyre which differentiates it from others. There are two big air-inlets on its side fairing which looks very cool with the Japanese decals featuring the name of this bike. Suzuki has neatly designed its fuel tank which gives it a premium touch. Its single seat complements its rear designing. The bike features a partly black colored fatty silencer with a diamond-like coating. The rear cowl houses round shaped LED tail light and up-raised indicators which looks fancy with its broad rear tyre.
Suzuki has had a couple of quiet years. While the firm made headlines in late 2016 when it launched a barrage of new models including the GSX-R1000, GSX-250R, GSX-R125 and GSX-S125, it’s little new to shout about since then.
Suzuki has launched the 2019 Hayabusa for Rs 13.74 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which is a small hike of Rs 17,000 over the outgoing model. The Busa gets two new colour schemes – Metallic Oort Gray and Glass Sparkle Black. It was one of the most powerful and fastest production motorcycles of its time and is still considered amongst the best drag motorcycles. Mechanically, the 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by the 1,340cc inline-four engine that produces 195PS of power at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 155Nm at 7,200rpm.
