Welly Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 (040)

On the bench today is a Welly 1:60 scale model Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4. It’s one more on the long list of cars I wish I actually had in my driveway. Just wow. These are very popular on YouTube with the 1:18 and 1:24 scale modelers, but very hard to find many videos on this size. And it’s my first makeover of a Welly diecast.

Welly Die Casting Factory Limited is a manufacturer of die-cast toy cars and has been in the scale model business since 1979. The company’s factories are located in Guangdong Province of China, and employ over 3,000 workers. At the beginning of the 1980s, Welly mainly produced die-cast toy cars roughly 3 inches in length (approx. 1:64 scale). 1:38 scale cars were added later that decade. In the 1990s, the company developed 1:24 scale models, then added 1:18 scale ones. Welly recently established a research and development department, and began developing different ranges of radio-controlled models, including 1:32 scale diecast cars and trucks, and 1:12 scale plastic RC cars. Those are popular YouTube sites.

The Lamborghini Huracán (Spanish for “hurricane”; [uɾaˈkan]) followed the previous V10 offering – the Gallardo. The Huracán made its worldwide debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show, and was released in the market in the second quarter of 2014. Production lasted until 2019. The LP 610-4 designation comes from the car having a 610 metric horsepower and 4 wheel drive, while LP stands for “Longitudinale Posteriore”, which refers to the longitudinal mid-rear engine position.

Enjoy this Huracán makeover. If you like the video, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe to my channel and hit the notification bell for regularly updated content. Your respectful comments are always welcome. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Want to donate some old, beat-up diecast cars by post for future makevovers? I’m especially interested in Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini models of any make (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Corgi, Siku, Majorette et al) but beggars can’t be choosers, so I’m open to all brands and makes. Surprise me!

FYI: I don’t collect, display or sell the cars, and they’re certainly not competition entries. All Maple Leaf Matchbox Makeovers finished projects go to my local second hand store where they are bundled in bags of 3 and given to children for free.
