I’m having a drive in a BMW E39 M5. In 1999, BMW produced it’s third generation of it’s fast saloon – its the first M5 to come with a V8 – 400bhp of the stuff and a six-speed manual gearbox.
This E39 model in my opinion is the best looking M5 of the bunch (each to your own) and it’s also a car that everyone keeps on raving about and some even think it’s one of the best M cars around.
The one I’m driving is a 2002 facelift model which is pretty much factory stock apart from an exhaust back-box delete for some more V8 rumble.
