Ford Forced To Close Down Chicago And Michigan Assembly Plants

Ford Motor Co. closed two U.S. assembly plants amid the coronavirus pandemic. The plant in Michigan was closed because a worker tested positive for COVID-19. The other plant in Chicago was closed because of a parts shortage. The Michigan plant builds the F-150 pickup truck and the Chicago plant the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator SUVs. According to Reuters, Ford and other automakers have imposed new safety measures, including screening employees.
